Sugarloaf Marina opens April 15 with safety guidelines in place. The Ontario government announced a provincewide stay-at-home order effective April 8, except for outdoor activities where physical distancing measures could be maintained. Marinas, boating clubs, and other organizations that maintain docking facilities can continue to operate with safety guidelines in place. Sugarloaf Marina staff look forward to welcoming boaters in a safe manner, following all public health recommendations and guidelines. As the City continues to navigate the COVID-19 pandemic, all public health guidelines and protocols will be implemented to ensure safe marina operations. Safety for customers and staff are paramount and the social distancing protocol document outlines all safety measures that boaters must follow.

Sugarloaf Marina staff will continue to monitor provincial updates and make changes to daily operations based on public health recommendations. A summary of guidelines effective April 15, are listed below:

  • Docks are open for boats to tie up to
  • Social/Picnic docks and fish cleaning stations are closed
  • Washrooms/showers are closed – a portable toilet is on site
  • No dock buggies
  • Marina office is open by appointment only – payments by credit card over the phone recommended
  • Marine Supply Store is curbside pickup only
  • Boat launches by the marina staff will begin April 21
  • The fuel dock and pump-out station will open April 23, weather depending
  • Gatherings are not to take place on the docks, walkways, shore or elsewhere on marina property
  • Only boat with those in your immediate household – no guests
  • Remember, a stay-at-home order is in effect for all of Ontario with exceptions for outdoor recreation, including boating. Please adhere to these guidelines​ including social distancing measures.

The Sugarloaf Marina office will be open Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. by appointment only. Boaters are encouraged to pay for their docking fees over the phone. Docks MUST be paid in full before launching your boat, or before tying it to the docks.
