Port Colborne Lifts Total Open-Air Fire Ban

City of Port Colborne Fire Chief, Stan Double, has lifted the total open-air fire ban effective immediately following a significant improvement in air quality across the region.

Residents may resume open-air burning in accordance with the City's applicable bylaws and regulations. Anyone planning to have an open-air fire is reminded to burn responsibly, never leave a fire unattended, and ensure it is fully extinguished before leaving the area.

While local conditions have improved, wildfire activity continues in parts of Canada, and air quality can change quickly. Residents are encouraged to stay informed by monitoring local forecasts and current air quality conditions, particularly if they are sensitive to smoke or have underlying health conditions.
