Parks and Rec

As the City of Port Colborne marks Parks and Recreation Month this June, the City is taking steps toward shaping the future of community spaces and recreational programming.

The City has initiated the development of a new Parks and Recreation Strategic Plan. Spanning a 10-year period, from 2025 to 2035, the comprehensive plan will guide the future of Port Colborne’s indoor and outdoor recreation, parks, sport amenities, and related services.

With a focus on enhancing quality of life for all residents, the City is committed to ensuring the plan reflects local values and priorities. Resident feedback will play a key role in shaping the direction of the plan, and a multi-phase, resident-focused engagement approach is underway. Engagement opportunities include open houses and pop-up events.

Port Colborne residents are encouraged to visit the City’s public engagement booth at the Port Colborne Farmers’ Market on Friday, June 13, from 7 a.m. to noon, where City staff will be available to gather feedback from the community, share information, and answer questions.

Community engagement activities will continue through November 2025.
