The Niagara Transit Commission (NTC) is partnering with Left Turn Right Turn (LTRT) on their Facilities, Strategic Asset and Service Network Master Plan. The study is expected to take 18 months and will focus on optimizing services for public transit in Niagara over the next decade. The study is examining current transit infrastructure, service routes and operational strategies.

Key elements of the Master Plan include:

  • Service Strategy Optimization: Developing transit solutions that increase accessibility, improve efficiency, and meet ridership needs effectively.
  • Route and Stop Optimization: Enhancing the placement and frequency of routes and stops to serve transit users better.
  • Asset Utilization: Managing vehicles and infrastructure to maximize sustainability and ensure long-term reliability.
  • Customer Experience Improvements: Focusing on comfort, safety, affordability and overall user satisfaction.

Niagara Transit has proposed four network options for the Master Plan, which are laid out in detail on their website. There will also be several public information sessions across the region in early February, and residents can take the Exploring Possibilities survey before February 14, 2025 to provide their feedback.
