Lockview Park closure and surface upgrade

UPDATE - This project will now begin Tuesday, May 20.

Beginning Tuesday, May 13, 2025, and continuing through to Friday, May 23, 2025, Lockview Park at 5 John Street will undergo surface improvements. The temporary soft landing mulch currently in place will be replaced with a permanent rubber surface. This installation was originally scheduled for the fall but was postponed to ensure proper curing in warmer weather conditions. The mulch being removed won’t go to waste. The mulch will be repurposed and redistributed to other play areas across the city, helping to enhance multiple community spaces.

During this time, residents are encouraged to visit the nearby Lock 8 Playground as an alternative play area. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work to improve the safety and quality of our park infrastructure.
