Easter bunny at Vale

The Easter Bunny is returning to Port Colborne in style on Saturday, April 4, arriving by tugboat for a full day of family-friendly activities across the City.

Continuing Port Colborne’s beloved Tugboat Bunny tradition, the Easter Bunny will sail along the Welland Canal and dock at West Street near the Pilot House at 9 a.m. (Seaway traffic permitting).

Following the waterfront arrival, families are invited to the Vale Health & Wellness Centre for Vale Eggstravaganza – the City’s signature Easter event, featuring free family-friendly activities from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Guests are encouraged to bring non-perishable food donations in support of Port Cares.

Festivities kick off at 10 a.m. with the annual outdoor Egg Hunt at the side yard entrance of the Vale Health & Wellness Centre, while quantities last. Residents are reminded to bring their own baskets. New this year is a dedicated egg hunt area for children three and under.

Throughout the day, families can enjoy a variety of additional activities, including:

  • 10 to 11:30 a.m. – Egg Hunt (while quantities last)
  • 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. – Printing Press Keepsake with the Port Colborne Museum
  • 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. – Easter Crafts with the Port Colborne Public Library
  • 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. – Face Painting Fun
  • 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. – Colouring Contest with Port Colborne Junior Optimists
  • 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. – Free Family Bounce and Gym
  • 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Easter Fun with Dena
  • Noon to 1 p.m. – K-Pop Dance Party with Rumi and Zoey
  • Noon to 3 p.m. – Free Community Skate presented by Port Colborne Quarries Inc.
  • 2 to 4 p.m. – Free Community Swim presented by the YMCA of Niagara

The holiday weekend will also include various City of Port Colborne facility closures.

Administrative Buildings

Municipal offices, including City Hall, the Roselawn Centre, and the Sugarloaf Marina will be closed Friday, April 3 to Monday, April 6. Offices reopen on Tuesday, April 7 at 8:30 a.m.

Port Colborne Public Library

The Port Colborne Public Library will be closed Friday, April 3, Sunday, April 5, and Monday, April 6. The library will be open during regular operating hours on Saturday, April 4.

Public Works

Public Works facilities will be closed on Friday, April 3, and will reopen Monday, April 6. For after-hours emergencies, call 905-835-2900.
