The City of Port Colborne is pleased to welcome Jasmine Peazel- Graham as the new Corporate Communications Manager for the city. Jasmine will begin in her new role in the communications department starting Monday, Feb. 6, 2023.

“I’m excited to join the City of Port Colborne, especially in a role that contributes to the community I call home in such a meaningful way,” said Jasmine Peazel-Graham, new corporate communications manager. “As a resident, I’ve had the opportunity to enjoy the City’s informative and engaging communication initiatives and am eager to be part of the team that communicates relevant, useful, and transparent information. Additionally, I'll try to keep up the nautical pun tradition without going overboard”.

Jasmine brings over 13 years of progressive communications experience in municipal government, healthcare, and academia. Most recently, Jasmine worked in a Senior Communications role at Niagara Health providing strategic communications for a high-profile electronic health records system project. Prior to that, Jasmine spent over 6 years working in Corporate Communications at the City of Hamilton where she provided strategic communications support and advice to the office of the City Manager, the General Manager of Public Works, and all divisions within the Public Works department. Jasmine was involved in several high-profile projects in Hamilton that required the use of her extensive media relations experience, on-camera coaching, interview scenario training and communications leadership.

“Communications is a key element in running an efficient municipality, and we are excited to have Jasmine onboard to help steer the ship,” said Scott Luey, CAO. “With Jasmine’s help we will be able to continue implementing affective communications strategies to ensure our residents are kept informed and up-to-date.”

Jasmine holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Western Ontario, as well as a Graduate Certificate in Public Relations from Humber College.

Jasmine will work closely with the CAO’s office to develop and implement all media and public relations strategies to build brand awareness and engage with the community, corporate partners, stakeholders, and employees.
