Union Jack Flag

Today, Friday June 3, 2022, the City of Port Colborne raised the Union Jack flag at King George Memorial Park in celebration of the Platinum Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth the II. Her Majesty The Queen has become the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee, reigning for 70 year.

King George Memorial Park, located at 64 Clarence Street, was named after King George V, Queen Elizabeth’s grandfather, in celebration of Dominion Day and is 20th anniversary as King in 1930, and was dedicated to him on July 1, 1936, posthumously. The memorial park was rededicated to King George V on July 1, 2006 – 70 years later.

The City of Port Colborne is proud to be celebrating Her Majesty’s historic reign this Platinum Jubilee Celebration Weekend, taking place from June 2 to 5, 2022.
