Vale Trail

Where: Vale Health and Wellness Centre Front Lobby, 550 Elizabeth Street Port Colborne.

Who: The input of residents will be sought to gather their perspectives on the existing
systems and infrastructure for walking, biking, and other modes of transportation. As
well as suggestions for enhancing them.

When: The Public Information Centre (PIC) will be held on August 17, 2023, between the
hours of 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

What: To facilitate resident education and gather valuable input, the City of Port Colborne will
host a Public Information Centre. This event will provide an opportunity for residents to
gain knowledge about the study and offer their insights. These insights will then be
utilized by the study team to formulate a future-oriented plan.
The study team will assess and pinpoint deficiencies in the current active transportation
network, establish a prioritized list of active transportation facility enhancements, and
propose practical solutions to enhance connectivity and encourage the use of these
facilities.
This report will enable the City of Port Colborne to:
  • Identify shortcomings in the current active transportation network.
  • Formulate a set of priorities and guidelines for implementing upgrades to the active transportation network.
  • Enhance accessibility, connections, and operations for active transportation modes throughout the City of Port Colborne.
To ensure broader participation, a public engagement questionnaire will be conducted
virtually on the city’s website. For those who prefer hard copies, printed questionnaires
will be available at City Hall and the Port Colborne Historical and Marine Museum.
