Important changes to Blue Box Program begin Jan. 1

Beginning Jan. 1 2024, Niagara Region’s residential recycling program will no longer be managed by the Region and responsibility for the program will be taken on by Circular Materials, a producer responsibility organization that is administering contracts for Blue Box (which includes Grey Box in Niagara) material across the province.

Clarke Area Sanitary Sewer Maintenance Work

The City of Port Colborne, in collaboration with Civica Infrastructure Inc. will be conducting sanitary maintenance on Chestnut Street and Clarke Street. This proactive program includes flushing, CCTV inspection of main sewer lines aimed at ensuring the continued efficiency of our sewage systems.
Schedule:
Commencing on Monday, December 4, 2023, the maintenance work is expected to conclude by Wednesday, December 20, 2023. The designated working hours are between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Main Street closed between Mellanby Avenue and the Main Street Bridge

The Niagara Region, in coordination with the St. Lawrence Seaway will be closing the Main Street Bridge to facilitate the resurfacing of the Main Street East and Welland Avenue Intersection.
This closure is scheduled to take place Thursday, November 30, and Friday, December 1, between the hours of 7 a.m. and 2 p.m.
