Our residents play an essential role in creating meaningful, engaging, and memorable experiences for both locals and visitors. With a network of more than 500 volunteers, we deeply appreciate the dedication and enthusiasm that bring our events to life.

Please note that all volunteers are required to complete a Volunteer Application Form to be considered for a role. You will be notified by email once your application has been approved.

The Annual Canal Days Marine Heritage Festival would not be possible without the hard work and dedication of more than 200 volunteers. Each August Civic Holiday weekend, the city of Port Colborne celebrates its rich marine heritage along the Welland Canal and at various locations throughout the city. Port Colborne Historical & Marine Heritage Museum |

The Port Colborne Historical and Marine Heritage Museum offers a wide range of programming throughout the year, including the Canal Days Marine Heritage Festival, the Grand Old Christmas Festival, and Arabella’s Tea Room — the oldest continuously operating tea room in Canada, run entirely by dedicated volunteers. Each year we are proud to celebrate National Volunteer Week in the month of April, by thanking all our dedicated volunteers who help make a positive impact in the community.
