The L.R. Wilson Heritage Research Archives staff is proud to present for Archives Awareness Week our new online exhibit, “Port Colborne High School Yearbooks: The Tattler.” When the high school was celebrating its centennial in 2023, we received a request to make its yearbooks accessible online.

Port Colborne to celebrate Earth Day with free tree giveaway

Port Colborne is going green for Earth Day with the return of the City’s free tree giveaway.
The first-come, first-served event begins at 9 a.m. on Thursday, April 17, supplying 500 free trees and 100 free seed packs to Port Colborne residents. The event takes place in Market Square, located at 59 Charlotte St. There is a limit of two trees per household.
This year, residents can look forward to a variety of tree species (while supplies last), including:
- Bur oak
- Red maple
- Silver maple
- White birch

In response to the challenges posed by shifting U.S. tariffs, the City of Port Colborne, in collaboration with Niagara Region and the other 11 local municipalities, is encouraging residents to Shop, Support and Share Local.
This Proudly Local initiative supports similar efforts from across the country designed to stimulate local economies and ignite pride in buying local and supporting local businesses.
