Join Port Colborne as a volunteer and help make our community events and programs an even bigger success. Our residents play an essential role in creating meaningful, engaging, and memorable experiences for both locals and visitors. With a network of more than 500 volunteers, we deeply appreciate the dedication and enthusiasm that bring our events to life.
Many community programs and events rely on the generous support of volunteers. If you're interested in getting involved, or have questions please reach out to volunteers@portcolborne.ca.
Please note that all volunteers are required to complete a Volunteer Application Form to be considered for a role. You will be notified by email once your application has been approved.
Volunteer Opportunities & Resources
The City of Port Colborne hosts a variety of family-friendly events throughout the year, and we invite you to get involved as a volunteer at our annual celebrations:
New Years Eve Celebration
SportsFest & Polar Plunge
Tug Boat Bunny & Eggstravaganza
Open House: Touch a Truck & Fire Prevention Kick Off
*Please note, not all roles are suitable for minors (under 18).
The Annual Canal Days Marine Heritage Festival would not be possible without the hard work and dedication of more than 200 volunteers. Each August Civic Holiday weekend, the City of Port Colborne celebrates its rich marine heritage along the Welland Canal and at various locations throughout the city.
The Port Colborne Historical and Marine Heritage Museum offers a wide range of programming throughout the year, including the Canal Days Marine Heritage Festival, the Grand Old Christmas Festival, and Arabella's Tea Room -- the oldest continuously operating tea room in Canada, run entirely by dedicated volunteers.
The City invites all local youth sport organizations to get involved by partnering with the us to volunteer at events, such as Canal Days.
If you're interested in learning more about these opportunities please reach out to volunteers@portcolborne.ca.
The City is grateful to have over 500 individuals in our volunteer database supporting community and City events. Each year we are proud to celebrate National Volunteer Week in the month of April, by thanking all our dedicated volunteers who help make a positive impact in the community.
At this time we also award volunteers who have dedicated a considerable amount of time with a years of service certificate and service pin.
