Helping build more homes, faster in Port Colborne

To make progress towards solving the housing crisis we need to build more homes at prices that Canadians can afford, faster. To do this we need to end restrictive zoning and speed up permitting, and add greater density, especially near transit and post-secondary institutions. The Housing Accelerator Fund (HAF) will cut this red tape and fast-track at least 112,000 new homes by 2028, which cities and regions estimate will lead to the creation of over 750,000 new homes for people in towns, cities...
West Street Electrical Improvements to begin March 10

Starting March 10, West Street, from Sugarloaf Street to Park Street will be undergo construction to install new electrical infrastructure.
The work will start at Sugarloaf Street and progress north, completing the work one block at a time. While the contractor is working in each block, the road will change to one-way only, heading north. Parking will still be available where feasible. This project is expected to be completed by the end of May.

Public invited to learn more about water, wastewater in Port Colborne

Two upcoming open houses are aiming to keep residents informed about water, wastewater, and stormwater management in Port Colborne.
The two drop-in style events will take place on Tuesday, March 18 and Thursday, March 20 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. in the Golden Puck Room at the Vale Health and Wellness Centre.
During the sessions, residents will be able to learn more about costs behind water and wastewater rates, as well as the actions the City is taking to address them.
