Councillor Ron Bodner appointed as Port Colborne’s temporary Deputy Mayor

Port Colborne City Council has appointed Councillor Ron Bodner to the position of Deputy Mayor, while Mayor William Steele is taking a temporary unpaid leave of absence to run in the provincial election.
Deputy Mayor Bodner has spent several terms as a Council member and was Port Colborne’s Mayor from 2004 to 2006.
The City thanks Deputy Mayor Bodner for stepping into the temporary leadership position while Mayor Steele is away.

City of Port Colborne seeks community input on expanding childcare availability

The City of Port Colborne has launched a survey to gather input from residents regarding expanding the number of licensed childcare spaces in the community. The City is looking for feedback on the availability of childcare spaces, and the possible use of the former Visitors Centre (former Humberstone City Hall building) at Main Street and Mellanby Avenue as the new location for expanded childcare spaces.

The City of Port Colborne is pleased to announce the appointment of Stan Double as the City’s full-time Fire Chief. In addition, the City is happy to welcome Mark Middleton as the new Deputy Fire Chief.

Port Colborne Historical and Marine Museum prepares for 50th anniversary

It’s a celebration that’s been 50 years in the making. The Port Colborne Historical and Marine Museum is preparing to mark it’s 50th anniversary as a community museum, having celebrated its grand opening on July 1, 1975.
Observations will begin with the release of a new video each month as the history of the Museum’s buildings and grounds is narrated by a member of the Board of Museum, Heritage, and Culture.
