In 1970, juvenile women’s softball was quite competitive in Ontario. It was this year that the Charuk’s Woodworking Provincial Women’s Softball Union (PWSU) team won the Juvenile “B” Championships. Comprised entirely of Port Colborne girls aged 15-17, the team went undefeated against Grimsby, Burlington, Tillsonburg, and Richmond Hill to bring home the championship. Coaches Claude Beauparlant and Vallee Rivando put in countless hours over many years to lead the team to success.
