Accessible Washrooms
Thanks to a generous donation from Vale Base Metals, Nickel Beach offers clean, accessible washrooms for beachgoers. Located near the beach entrance, the washrooms are open daily from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., from Victoria Day long weekend to Labour Day.
Following Labour Day, a portable toilet is available until Thanksgiving long weekend. No washroom facilities are available after Thanksgiving until the following beach season.

Tent/Sunshade Rental
Flip Flop Forts offers Nickel Beach visitors a convenient, sun-smart way to enjoy a day at the beach. These UPF 50+ sun shelters are set up and ready when you arrive and can be rented on site or booked online in advance.
Flip Flop Forts are available at Nickel Beach Thursday through Sunday from June 26 to September 7, 2026, including public holidays, weather permitting.
Please note: Sun shelter rentals are operated independently by Flip Flop Forts and are not a City of Port Colborne service. They operate in a designated area of Nickel Beach. The forts cannot be moved from this area and are not available for rent to visitors with dogs.

Beach Lounge Chair Rentals
Sit back, relax and enjoy your day at Nickel Beach with a beach lounger. Loungers are available to rent for the day for $5 + HST, giving you a comfortable spot to enjoy the sun, sand and views of Lake Erie. Rentals can be purchased in person from a beach attendant during your visit.

Dog Zone
Nickel Beach now has a Dog Zone, where you and your furry friend can have a blast together in the sand and water. Grab your leash and make some memories with your four-legged companion as you explore the sandy shores and splash in the waves together.
Dogs must remain on leash and within the designated Dog Zone.

Toy Library Bin
Sharing is part of the fun at Nickel Beach! Toy Library Bin lets beachgoers borrow, share and swap beach and water toys during their visit. Pick out something to enjoy for the day, return it when you're done, or leave a gently used toy for another beachgoer to enjoy.

Accessible Beach Mat
Nickel Beach has an accessible beach mat to help visitors with mobility needs travel across the sand and get closer to the Lake Erie shoreline. The sturdy pathway provides a firmer, more stable surface, helping reduce barriers and making the beach easier to enjoy for everyone.

Accessible Beach Chair
Enjoy the sand and water with fewer barriers using our Mobi Chair, a floating beach wheelchair available at Nickel Beach. Designed for visitors with mobility needs, the Mobi Chair makes it easier to travel across the sand and provides flotation in the water, helping more people experience and enjoy Lake Erie.

Garbage & Recycling
Nickel Beach is a natural area and we ask visitors to please be respectful of the environment.
Please use the waste receptacles provided, but only discard items that can be discarded in a regular household garbage. If you are using charcoal BBQ or have a leftover propane tank, it’s your responsibility to dispose of it correctly. Please don’t litter or leave BBQ waste at the beach.
