Volunteer Opportunity - Canal Days

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the 48th Annual Canal Days Marine Heritage Festival, presented by GIO Rail.

Volunteers play an important role in supporting event operations and creating a positive experience for visitors. As a volunteer, you may choose to apply for a variety of roles based on your interests and availability.

Responsibilities may include:

Answering guest questions and providing assistance in accordance with the City of Port Colborne's Code of Conduct
Reporting concerns or incidents to security, as required, while adhering to festival rules and procedures
Completing assigned tasks and checklists during your shift
Providing professional, friendly customer service to festival guests

What areas of the festival are you interested in volunteering at?

Bar Staff – Runner: Ability to lift 50+ lbs. Assist with loading and restocking inventory as needed. Monitor stock levels and check in with Backline staff to ensure quantities are maintained. Pace of role may vary throughout the shift. *Concert dates are Friday, July 31 and Saturday, August 1.

Bar Staff – Server: Serve alcoholic beverages that have been purchased and open cans before they are provided to guests. Assist with ID verification and support the bar team as needed. *Concert dates are Friday, July 31 and Saturday, August 1.

Bar Staff – Cash: Handle cash transactions and operate the point-of-sale (POS) system. Verify identification and ensure compliance with AGCO regulations. *Concert dates are Friday, July 31 and Saturday, August 1.

Festival Ambassador: Volunteers will be assigned to a section of festival grounds to walk, answer questions from the public and support vendors.
