The City of Port Colborne is seeking an energetic and dedicated individual to join our Public Works team as a Water/Wastewater Crew Leader.

Reporting to the Water/Wastewater Superintendent, the Crew Leader assists in directing the crew in maintenance and construction activities in the City’s water distribution system, wastewater collection system and stormwater system. This position prepares work schedules and directs crews of associates by assigning duties, and ensuring the work of crews is performed efficiently, effectively, safely and on time, all in accordance with accepted standards. The Crew Leader participates in the General on-call rotation and responds to after hours and weekend emergencies. The Crew Leader may be appointed Acting Overall Responsible Officer (ORO) when the ORO is absent.

The ideal candidate will have an Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent, along with a Class 1 Ontario Water Distribution Operator certificate and Class 1 Ontario Wastewater Collection System Operator licence. You will have at least 4 years practical experience with watermain and sewer maintenance, and a DZ licence in good standing. Holding a Basic First Aid & CPR certification is an asset.

This is a full-time, permanent unionized position working 40 hours per week. The rate of pay is $33.66 (this includes full water certification pay), and a competitive benefits package and pension plan.
