Niagara Central Dorothy Rungeling Airport Commission (NCDRAC) is seeking a qualified Independent Contractor Bookkeeper to manage the airport's financial records, ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and reporting requirements and to assist in the annual audit. This is a contract-based, remote position, requiring periodic on-site visits to collect and deliver documents, perform specific tasks and remotely attend Commission meetings upon request.

Scope of Work

The successful contractor will be responsible for:

Working closely with the Airport Facility Operator and the Executive of the Commission to ensure timely and efficient operation of the Airport.

  • Performing general bookkeeping functions using QuickBooks Desktop, including:
  • Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable
  • Payroll processing and remittances
  • HST filings and reconciliations
  • Month-end bank reconciliation
  • Budget preparation
  • Assist with annual audit
  • Managing deposits and supporting financial documentation
  • Providing monthly financial reports to the commissioners
  • Supporting Airport Facility Operator in managing all important Airport documents.
  • Supporting special projects

Requirements

  • Must be a qualified Independent Contractor (attestation required)
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop is mandatory
  • Ability to work independently and manage sensitive financial data
  • Experience with budgeting, audit preparation, and government remittances
  • Must have access to a secure office space and reliable internet
  • Willingness to occasionally visit the NCDRA site to handle paperwork and materials

Note: NCDRA will provide a laptop preloaded with required software and files.

Compensation & Invoicing

  • Compensation will be based on a fixed monthly fee of $750 (Average 20 hours per month)
  • Applicants will be paid an hourly rate of $37.50 for additional work (e.g., special projects, audit support).
  • Invoicing will be submitted monthly.
