 Christmas in Port Colborne

 Lighted Santa Claus Parade
In 2021, the City of Port Colborne celebrated Christmas a little differently with a Reverse Lighted Santa Claus Parade.

Port Colborne's Santa Claus Parade is always the first Saturday in December. It also always takes place at night because it is a lighted parade.

For 2022, the parade will be on Saturday, December 3. Stay tuned for more details!

 Tug Boat Santa
Santa's arrival into Port Colborne for the annual Lighted Santa Claus Parade happens in true marine fashion, with his arrival by tugboat. Mrs. Claus also joins him for this special visit to Port Colborne.

The City of Port Colborne is proud of its vibrant culture and marine heritage. Throughout the year we host various events and festivals including Canal Days, Christmas in Port Colborne, New Year's Eve and Canada Day. These events allow us to engage with the local community, invite visitors to experience the very best of Port Colborne, and partner with various stakeholders.

Although events and festivals right now may look different because of COVID-19, City staff are finding creative ways for residents to PORTicipate and promote tourism in the area.

If you would like to plan a special event in Port Colborne utilizing town infrastructure, such as roads or parks you must fill out an Event Application. Our event team will be happy to work with you!

Beginning in 1999, SportFest, Festival of Sports™, is a February celebration providing family-friendly activities for all ages. This city-wide community Festival of Sports™ attracts participants from across Niagara with proceeds donated to various charities.

February 11 to 12, 2022, would traditionally be a time for the City to celebrate winter with our annual SportsFest events. With capacity limits currently in place, the City has had to curtail plans to encourage gathering, whether inside for events such as volleyball, hockey, chili cookoff, music trivia and outside events such as snow-pitch and snow-golf.

Stay tuned for more details about SportsFest 2023!
