Photography Contest

"Harbour Sunset" by Morgan Whelan - winner of the 2012 Winter Photography Competition

Signs of Spring Photography Competition

Do you want to participate for a chance to win a great prize?

The City of Port Colborne is looking to the public to help promote the vibrancy of this area with its Signs of Spring Photography Competition. As spring arrived early this year and we head into April, we are reminded of the old saying April showers bring May flowers. And as this can be a season of rain boots and umbrellas, jumping over puddles and dashing for cover under the closest awning, it is also the time when the weather warms, the daylight lengthens, the grass gets greener, blossoms emerge and people head outside to take part in outdoor activities.

Grab a camera and share your photos with us! Celebrate the warmer weather and sun-filled days and show us your signs of spring!

 Some spring photo ideas include:

  • People enjoying the outdoors - trails, parks, waterfront (of course with their permission!)
  • Spring Greenery
  • Rain and Reflections
  • Flowers in Bloom

Submissions must be received by Friday June 15, 2012. The winning photo will be selected and featured in various print marketing pieces produced for the City of Port Colborne. As well, the winner of the contest will receive a $100 gift card for @27 Restaurant, one of Niagara's favourite casual fine dining experiences, in Port Colborne.

High-resolution, digital images must be submitted on CD either by mail or in person to the Roselawn Centre at 296 Fielden Ave., or to City Hall at 66 Charlotte Street, or via email to tourism@portcolborne.ca. Please be sure to include the entry form with your submission
