The Port Colborne Mayor's Youth Advisory Council (MYAC) meets every month. Since its inception, it has had many successful events, including car washes, barbecues, Rock in the Park, and most recently the Youth Area at Canal Days 2010. They are actively recruiting new members to be a part of their innovative team and would love to meet you.
MYAC's newest project is the SKATE PARK GROUP for the youth of Port Colborne. The SPG is working on designing a skate park, determining a location and preparing a report to Council to have a skate park built as soon as possible within the city. Closer to the date of events, MYAC meets more often to prepare and discuss a variety of issues such as youth initiatives, fun activities and to promote awareness for the youth of Port Colborne. The Council also participates and has had success with many fundraising events to help supplement their fun-filled activities.
