Sportsfest
Sportsfest is an annual February celebration providing activities for all ages.

It is a city-wide, family-friendly, community event that attracts participants from across Niagara, with proceeds going to various charities. The Mayor's Cup Hockey Tournament, indoor volleyball, family skating, ball hockey, sports celebrity evening, trivia and family skating are just some of the events that are traditionally offered to the public. Providing a sense of community pride and spirit with greater awareness of each community group and their contribution to the community, Sportsfest provides recreational activities for all ages, promotes a healthy lifestyle, an opportunity for organized fund raising, and promotes Port Colborne.

Event Agenda
Date: Saturday Febraury 6, 2010
Spotlight Guest: Dennis Hull, NHL Star with Chicago Blackhawks
Masters of Ceremonies: Mark Hebscher - former host of Sportsline, and Leafs reporter with guest, Mark Matthews, entertainer
Location: Roselawn Centre, 296 Fielden Ave. Port Colborne
Purpose: Fundraising for volunteer-run minor sports organizations in Port Colborne including Minor Hockey, Soccer, and Minor Girls softball. Serving over 2000 local kids.
Former spotlight guests: Darryl Sittler, Bill Watters, Gerry Cheevers, Stephen Brunt, Wendel Clark...
Activities:
Silent auction of consignment and donated sports memorabilia. Donors include NHL Alumni Association, Blue Jays, NFL Canada, Buffalo Sabres, Hockey Canada - direct proceeds to minor sports
Sports Card and Collectible Dealers from across Niagara
Free Penny Raffle of collectibles for kids under 16
Live Hotstove Interview in the Roselawn Theatre: Hebsy awards, panel interview between Hebscher, Hull and Matthews, audience Q & A.
Timetable:
Dinner 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm
Doors and activities at 6:30 pm
Hotstove Interview 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Auction close 9: pm
Event finishes 11:30 pm
Tickets:
Gold (Adult) $20, General admission
Gold (Youth under 16) $12.50 includes free penny raffle
Total attendance: 275 people
Golds may be available at the door on the night

Mayor's Cup Hockey Tournament
The Mayor's Cup Hockey Tournament kicks on Thursday February 4 with Team Port Colborne taking on the Town Of Wainfleet at 6pm at the Teeder Kennedy Youth Arena.
On Saturday February 6, Team Port Colborne will play Team Smithville at 12 noon at the West Side Arena and then the Haldimand Mad Herons at 2pm at the West Side Arena.
Their divisional championship is scheduled for Sunday February 7 at 10 a.m. at West Side Arena.
We hope to see everyone out cheering on Team Port Colborne as they defend their division title!
