Ships on the Canal
Welcome to the 'Ships on the Canal' section of the Port Colborne Historical & Marine Museum's "Half a Century" online exhibit. Here you can view photographs of ships that have travelled through Port Colborne, using the Canal and locks, to reach the Great Lakes. The photographs range from local ships to ships from around the world. Each of these photographs are from the Museum's collections and have been released to the public in 2009 for the 50th Anniversary of the St. Lawrence Seaway Management Corporation and are a tribute to the Welland Canal which has given so much to this community. Below are the photographs which you may view with a brief description of each.
